Brassel Heads Calise’s CRM Unit

DALLAS Calise & Sedei has launched a customer relationship management division and has hired former Targetbase executive Ed Brassel as managing director.

With the formation of the new division, principal Charlie Calise said his shop can now pitch new business with a fully integrated approach that includes strategic planning, advertising, media planning and buying, interactive services and public relations. The Dallas agency has been adding the other services since opening last February; the CRM division
completes the equation.

“To me, what makes CRM important is being able to segment the market and being able to understand the insights and motivations of each of those segments,” Calise said.

Calise said he hired Brassel, who recently served as senior vice president and general manager of Omnicom’s Targetbase in Dallas, largely because of Brassel’s experience working on CRM strategies for clients like Southwest Airlines, Clairol and Iams.

Brassel’s division, which currently totals three employees, will provide analytics, relationship strategy and program development to other accounts of the agency and will serve its own clients.
