Borman Joins Gearon Hoffman

Kimberly Borman has joined Gearon Hoffman as executive vice president and director of client service. She has responsibility for the agency’s account management, media and business development initiatives.

At Gearon Hoffman, an agency here with about $60 million in annual billings, she takes on duties formerly handled by Arthur Sweetser, who left to become senior vice president and director of marketing for Sperry & Hutchinson in Manchester, Mass. [Adweek, Feb. 21].

Borman’s goal at Gearon Hoffman, she said, is to help the agency grow by focusing on “clients committed to branding versus marketshare,” particularly in terms of the dot-com accounts she may pursue.

Borman spent the past few months at Americounsel.com, Needham, Mass., as chief marketing officer; she believes that client-side experience will prove invaluable to her at Gearon Hoffman.

“She brings general agency and direct experience to the account services group. Direct is an integral part of everybody’s ad business,” noted agency president Bob Hoffman.

Borman spent more than six years at Wickersham Hunt Schwantner, Boston, overseeing Bose Corp. for most of her tenure. Wickersham Hunt fell on hard times and recently was absorbed into parent Arnold Communications.
