ATLANTA The newly formed Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority has selected Boone/Oakley as its first advertising agency.

Charlotte, N.C.-based B/O said it was selected from 16 regional ad shops that competed for the account during a six-week review.

Advertising will be targeted at both the convention business and tourists. Media will include print, outdoor, radio, Internet, direct mail and guerrilla marketing. Annual billings were not disclosed.

The CRVA was created by the merger of the Auditorium-Coliseum-Convention Center Authority and Visit Charlotte, the city’s meetings and visitors bureau.
