Blue Cross Reviews Mid-Atlantic Duties

NEW YORK CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield is looking for an agency to handle a $2 million image campaign, sources said.

Questionnaires went out last week to an undisclosed number of small to midsize East Coast agencies and are due back on Feb. 8. The forms stipulate that the campaign will involve television and print for the Washington, D.C., and Baltimore markets, rather than direct response mailings.

The client is based in Owings Mills, Md., and its manager of advertising, Keith Langrehr, is handling the process along with Joanne Davis Consulting in New York. The latter could not be reached for comment.

A cut to six semifinalists will be made Feb. 18. The client will then visit agencies March 1 and 2 to meet the core teams that will work on the business.
