BBDO Taps Daggett to Lead GE

NEW YORK BBDO has promoted Elizabeth Daggett to worldwide account director on its General Electric business from svp, senior account director.

“For the past three years, Elizabeth has been an invaluable contributor to our GE account. This promotion recognizes those contributions, while also ensuring a seamless transition in account leadership,” said John Osborn, president and CEO of BBDO in New York.

Daggett succeeds Bill Power, who recently left BBDO after slightly less than two years running the GE account.

Added Judy Hu, global director of advertising and branding at GE, “There’s nothing Elizabeth wouldn’t, couldn’t or hasn’t done for our business.”

In her enhanced role, Daggett, 37, will oversee all of BBDO’s global activities on GE, including its “Ecomagination” environmental push, healthcare initiatives and upcoming sponsorship of the Beijing Summer Olympic Games.

Daggett joined BBDO, a unit of Omnicom Group, in 2004 as svp, account director on GE. She was promoted to senior account director in 2005. Prior to BBDO, she worked at Lapham Miller in Boston, overseeing its Palm account. She has also served at Arnold and FCB.

Over the past three years, Daggett has played a role in launching GE’s “Imagination at work” image campaign as well as its “Ecomagination” advertising. She has also helped spearhead GE’s new-media initiatives, such as “One Second Theater” and “Imagination Theater.”

GE spends more than $150 million annually in measured media, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
