LOS ANGELES Cole & Weber/Red Cell has promoted Rebecca Armstrong to managing director of its Portland, Ore., office.

Armstrong, 37, was previously a group director at the shop, working with clients such as Nike Retail and Umpqua Bank. She will oversee the day-to-day operations at the office and report to Mike Doherty, president of Cole & Weber.

Armstrong fills a position that was vacated by Doherty in May 2000, when he was named president of the shop and moved to its Seattle office.
