NEW YORK — AOL Time Warner Inc. said Monday it launched a CNNMoney Web site by combining resources from Money.com and CNNfn.com.
The Web operation uses information from Money magazine, operated by AOL’s Time Inc. magazine unit, as well as from CNNfn, the business-news cable channel that is part of the company’s CNN operations.
The company said the new Web site “will draw on the full editorial resources of CNN and Time Inc.” The Web site will focus on breaking financial news, market and industry coverage and target both surfers visiting from work and home.
AOL (AOL) said earlier this year that it would change CNNfn to CNN Money, part of an effort to refocus the cable channel. That initiative has since been pushed back to 2002, but the Web site change indicates it is still in the works.
AOL said in the press advisory that the new Web site “is projected to have over two billion combined page views this year.”
