MISSISSIPPI The Mississippi Gulf Coast Power Boat Association has hired Guice & Guice in Biloxi to handle publicity and public relations for the 1998 Gulf Coast Run Offshore World Championships in October. NORTH CAROLINA The Burke Design Group in Charlotte has changed its name to Burke Communications and relocated to 2108 South Blvd., Suite 205, Charlotte, 28203. J.C. Thomas Marketing Communications in Charlotte has been selected to provide sales assistance for IBM's Industrial Solutions Units. New England-based Schouwen Associates, a full-service advertising, marketing, public relations and Internet design company, has opened an office in Greensboro. The new unit will service clients in the Southeast and mid-Atlantic regions. The Zimmerman Group in Durham was picked to create international advertising and collateral for ClinTrials Research. SOUTH CAROLINA MicroSafe Corp. has named The Bosworth Group in Charleston as its marketing, advertising and public relations counsel.
