INDIANA Hirons & Company in Indianapolis has been chosen as agency of record for Hat World, Indianapolis, a specialty athletic headgear retailer. Montgomery Zukerman Davis in Indianapolis will handle marketing and advertising for the Welcoming Ceremony and the Kalachakra World Peace 1999 events, which will feature the Dalai Lama. The World Peace event, which takes place Aug. 17 through Aug. 27 in Bloomington, is an interfaith teaching of the philosophies of the Dalai Lama. Marketing Unlimited in Indianapolis has picked up a couple of accounts, Indianapolis Contractors Supply and B&W Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, both in Indianapolis. IOWA Poertner Consulting Group, an organizational development firm, selected Erickson- McClellan in Des Moines as its marketing communications agency of record. Eller Media Co. in Des Moines will install a "live leader board" for the U.S. Senior Open at I-245 and Keo for drivers heading toward downtown Des Moines from July 1 through July 15. The 14-by-48 billboard will carry the names of the event leaders and their scores. Sayles Graphic Design in Des Moines handled promotional materials for Norwest Investment's annual meeting using the theme "It takes two to tango" to acknowledge the merger between Norwest and Wells Fargo. KANSAS Greenbrier Basket Company in Wichita named hometown shop Associated Advertising Agency its agency of record. MICHIGAN Grace & Wild in Farmington Hills has started a division that will focus on special effects and animation production; its name consists of the symbols for division and multiplication. Richard Roy, formerly the animation technical director at Grace & Wild Digital Studios, will serve as creative technical director of the division. Simons Michelson Zieve Advertising in Troy has entered into a partnership with the Michigan Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, to assist with its advertising and marketing. MINNESOTA Initio Advertising in Minneapolis was named agency of record for Connexus Energy in Ramsey, a public utility formerly known as Anoka Electrical Cooperative. Initio will develop a multimedia brand campaign. Colle & McVoy Marketing Communications was awarded DirectAg.com's account. The Minneapolis agency will provide advertising, sales promotion and public relations for the farmer's Web resource. MSHOW.com, a Denver-based interactive broadcasting company, named Bozell Kamstra in Minneapolis its ad agency of record. Virtual conferencing company KRM Informations Services of Eau Claire, Wis., selected Snow Communications in Minneapolis to develop a public relations and branding program. Snow was also chosen to handle branding and marketing for Schwegman, Lundberg, Woessner and Kluth, Minneapolis, an intellectual-property law firm. MISSOURI The Glennon Co. in St. Louis has completed creative projects for the power tool accessory division of Skil-Bosch Power Tool Group, Chicago, and McBride & Son Homes, St. Louis, For Skil-Bosch, Glennon worked on a positioning strategy for the Blue Rage line of high-performance, cordless drill drivers. Glennon developed newspaper, outdoor and radio ads for McBride & Son's Nehemiah home-ownership program. Glennon was also chosen to do product introductions for Maypo and Wheatena in the Northeast beginning in October. Both brands are marketed by International Home Foods. Barkley Evergreen & Partners in Kansas City was named agency of record for Employers Reinsurance Corp. which offers insurance companies, corporations, healthcare institutions and other organizations a wide array of risk and capital management options. New officers for the Kansas City Direct Marketing Association are Pam Linwood, president; Tracey Hopper, vice president of finance; Bob Merrigan, vice president of programming; Curtis Arnold, vice president of membership; Rose Sinn, vice president of direct marketing; and Patty Robb, vice president of information services. New directors of the association are: Mike Astrachan, Cathy Beaham, Jennifer Buckner, Sarah Cline, Debbie Freeman, Gregory Grabb, Tim Hand, DeAnne Kapla, Julie Mohajir, Greg Palen, Debi Sicoli and Alan Weber. OHIO Marketec Communications in Baberton will develop and produce an Internet and e-commerce site for garage-door marketer Genie of Fairview. Gregory Marketing Communications in Cleveland added Oberalpen and Cast Nylons to its client roster. Sara Lee Bakery named Glen Eagle Marketing of Cincinnati as its consumer promotion agency of record. Adcom Communications in Cleveland created the package for Expansion Draft, the latest product from the Crooked River Brewery, which is tied to the return of the National Football League's Cleveland Browns. Sigma: Research Management Group in Cincinnati has launched an electronic division called Sigma: Online Research Group. It will be headed by Jim Wigton, a former market research analyst with Gateway. WISCONSIN Malcolm Marketing Communications in Madison was chosen as agency of record for the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the largest international dental association dedicated to cosmetic dentistry. Malcolm was also selected to develop marketing and public relations materials for the Missouri Optometric Association. The agency has already launched a statewide direct mail program for the client. Prom Krog Altstiel in Mequon was chosen as agency of record for Durant Industrial Controls, a Watertown division of Eaton Corp. that makes and markets digital panel meters, totalizers, rate meters, timers and counters, temperature controls and various other devices. The Hiebing Group in Madison was named agency of record for Raynor Garage Doors, Dixon, Ill. Circle Midwest in Milwaukee was chosen to design a promotional campaign for the 1999 Holiday Folk Fair International sponsored by the International Institute of Wisconsin. Promotions include a poster, brochure, mug, T-shirt and program. Circle has done the work for five years. The Rockford Register Star in Rockford contracted the Zizzo Group in Milwaukee to develop a branding campaign. The work is expected to break this summer. Tri-Ad Communications in Milwaukee recently completed a new round of collateral materials for fireplace marketer Design Specialties. Hoffman York in Milwaukee won trade advertising duties for residential flooring offered by Armstrong World Industries, including the company's vinyl and laminate floorings. Image Makers Advertising in Waukesha was named agency of record for Midwest Golf Marketing and will oversee advertising for the 1999 Wisconsin Classic Golf Tour. The tour offers coupons for complimentary, discounted and other specials on 48 of the state's golf courses.
