Aegis Engages Media Insights Chief

NEW YORK Aegis Group’s Carat said it has hired Amy Drill as senior vice president of media innovation development, and she reports to Ray Warren, president of Carat Media Group Americas.

Her appointment follows by two months the hiring of Johann Wachs as director of strategy. Both are new posts, the duties for which had previously been handled by Joanne Burke, former evp and managing director of Carat Insight, who left the agency late last year.

Drill joins Carat from Ipsos Insight, a custom research company, where she had been svp of product development and marketing. Prior to that, she had been director of interactive strategy at WPP Group’s Ogilvy & Mather. She has also held senior positions at IBM, Pepsi and Schering-Plough.

Her direct reports at Carat include Rob Frydlewicz, vp and research director, and Michelle Lynn, vp and associate director of consumer strategies.

Warren cited Drill’s capabilities in integrated marketing and product development as being a “tremendous asset to Carat and to our clients, especially as we expand” the agency’s presence in communications planning services.
