Hamon and Stern Communications has been hired by Garuda Indonesia Airlines to create a trade and specialty markets ad campaign for the United States.
The Garden Council has selected Lewis & Partners as its first, full-service advertising agency. Lewis will be responsible for developing and implementing a plan to fund a national marketing campaign for the not-for -profit organization. The Garden Council, based in Chicago with an office in Diablo, Calif., promotes the health, environmental, economic and fun benefits of gardening.

Oster & Associates has won three new accounts: Kooter’s Restaurants, set to open in Santee this month; K5 Boardrider Shops, which opens its second location in Carmel Mountain Ranch this month; and Agricultural Supply Inc.
La Costa Resort and Spa has retained Stoorza, Ziegaus & Metzger to handle pr for the 400-acre luxury resort.

Ad Department here has driven off with the $2-million ad account for Thomason Auto Group, a Pacific Northwest auto dealer that handles Ford, Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Nissan, Oldsmobile and Volvo dealerships in the Portland and Seattle markets. Finalists in the pitch included incumbent Gerber Advertising, EvansGroup and Harris, Massey, Herynchx.
