St. Francis System Nears $4 Mil. Decision
CHICAGO–Sisters of St. Francis Health Services has narrowed the list of contenders for its estimated $4 million account to eight agencies.
The Mishawaka, Ind.-based health center network winnowed its list from about 35 agencies that had responded to requests for proposals sent in December, said Fred Bagg, director of community relations and marketing for the system.
Bagg declined to identify the remaining shops, but said they are in Indiana, Illinois, Virginia and Kentucky. Final presentations before St. Francis executives are scheduled for this week.
The review began when Publicis Indianapolis (formerly EvansGroup), the agency for the system’s St. Francis Hospital Center in Beech Grove, Ind., resigned to take on a conflicting client last summer, Bagg said. In reviewing its options, the network decided to find an agency to handle all of its facilities in an effort to gain greater economic efficiency.
Yet to be determined is whether marketing efforts will try to brand all the hospitals under the St. Francis moniker, Bagg said. Current ad efforts, including TV and print, do vary by hospital.
In addition to the St. Francis Hospital Center, the system’s hospitals include St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette, Ind.; St. Anthony Memorial Health Centers, Michigan City, Ind.; St. James Hospital & Health Centers, Chicago Heights, Ill.; St. Margaret Mercy Healthcare Centers, Hammond, Ind.; Franciscan Health Care Center, Louisville, Ky.; and St. Elizabeth Health Care Center, Delphi, Ind.
