$30 Mil. Travelocity Books Visits

DALLAS Travelocity has culled a list of five contenders from the 15 requests for information submitted in the review for its estimated $30 million account, sources said.

Competing are Havas agencies Arnold in New York and McKinney & Silver in Raleigh, N.C.; Omnicom Group’s Martin/Williams in Minneapolis and DDB in Dallas and Chicago; and independent Doner of Southfield, Mich., sources said.

Omnicom’s BBDO in New York did not advance, per sources, as had been previously reported. [Adweek Online, Sept. 11].

The Rojek Cutcher Group in Cleveland is managing the search.

Independent The Richards Group in Dallas and its interactive affiliate Click Here have handled Travelocity work for the past four years. A Richards representative said the agency is not participating in the review.

The online travel company will be making agency visits over the next couple weeks with presentations to follow, although contenders have not been told if another cut is coming or when a decision will be made.

The agencies, consultant and client either declined comment or could not be reached.
