$140 Mil. Subaru Business in Play

CHICAGO Subaru of America is set to contact agencies about its $140 million advertising account, now at Interpublic Group’s Temerlin McClain, a representative for the automaker confirmed.

“We are transitioning to a premium brand, globally, so this is part of a strategic initiative for us,” said the rep for the Cherry Hill, N.J., automaker. “We are looking at every aspect of business from customer service to marketing and advertising.” Temerlin will be invited to participate, the rep said.

An agency representative referred calls to Subaru.

Temerlin a year ago introduced a new tagline, “Subaru. Driven by what’s inside,” with ads featuring cyclist Lance Armstrong. The Irving, Texas-based agency is set to break new work later this spring.
