There's a bunch of genetic meddling going on in the new video game Resident Evil Revelations. It may stand to reason, then, that marketer Capcom would stage a wholly unnatural promotion for its release.
Having released almost two dozen games since 1996, all with the same basic zombie-virus plot line, it must be tough for the Resident Evil series to keep its marketing fresh. So, to promote Resident Evil 6 (actually the 23rd iteration in the franchise), game maker Capcom is going truly barbaric, opening an actual meat market that purports to be selling human flesh. The kicker: It is indeed real meat. It's just not actually human meat. The impressive limbs at the Wesker & Son shop in East London's Smithfield Meat Market were all crafted by food artist Sharon Baker. Proceeds from the sale of "Peppered Human & Lemon Sausages" and "J'avo Caught Human Thigh Steaks," along with pots of Red Herb and Green Herb (which provide health in the game), will go to the Limbless Association. Fans will also be invited to attend two days of lectures at St. Bartholomew's Hospital Pathology Museum about how Resident Evil's themes relate to real-life research.
