SAN FRANCISCO Havas' Black Rocket Euro RSCG said today that its founder and president John Yost has resigned, and will take time off to reflect before he decides his next career move.

Yost and his partner Steve Stone sold a majority share in Black Rocket to Euro RSCG in 2001 and have been managing the company, best-known for its eight years of work on the Yahoo! account since that time.

"The last nine years have been great, really active," Yost said Monday. He said while he has had a great nine-year run with Black Rocket and a successful partnership with Euro RSCG, his contract is near term.

"It seemed like an excellent time to step back for a moment," said Yost, "and to re-think the direction of the agency, marketing and advertising business."

Black Rocket is a San Francisco-based, full-service advertising agency. Founded in 1996, clients past and present include Yahoo!, Discover Brokerage, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Online, Musco Olive Co., Conde Nast Publications (Wired, Lucky , Cargo), See's Candies, MTV International and fusionOne.
