BOSTON The Voice has launched its first promotional effort for the Bluefish, a minor league baseball franchise that plays in Bridgeport, Conn.

The six-figure assignment kicked off with point-of-purchase displays and radio spots that broke in Connecticut last week in support of the team, which plays in the Atlantic League at the AA level and does not have a Major League Baseball affiliation.

In one 60-second radio spot called “Umpire,” a husband and wife argue in exaggerated fashion about having soybean meatloaf for dinner and attending a nephew’s birthday party until the man leaves for a Bluefish game.
