CHICAGO – VideOcart Inc. last week filed for an arbitration hearing, seeking to halt Catalina Information Resources, the joint venture between data company Information Resources Inc. and in-store marketer Catalina Marketing. VideOcart claims the joint venture violates non-compete agreements struck when it was spun off from former parent IRI. IRI chairman Gian Fulgoni said VideOcart’s action ‘is without merit. We do not expect the outcome of this action to have any material adverse effect on IRI’s participation in the joint venture.’ VideOcart executives could not be reached for comment.
