The Atlanta WPP Group agency bested three other finalists in a review: crosstown Omnicom Group rival BBDO, Sanna Mattson MacLeod in Smithtown, N.Y., and The Campbell Group in Baltimore.
JWT has held the account since 2001, when then incumbent Ogilvy & Mather closed its Atlanta operations.
Neither the client nor the agency could be reached for comment.
The USVI’s advertising expenditures in 2002 amounted to $7 million, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.
