Think you know somebody who could be the next Pamela Anderson or David Hasselhoff? If they're in Florida this week for spring break, they'll have a shot at their 15 minutes of fame.
That's where HitMusic.com is sponsoring the 2000 Baywatch Search, an annual promotion associated with the worldwide hit television series. The talent hunt kicked off yesterday and will run concurrently with spring break in Panama City Beach, Fla., through March 24, before setting off on a tour of 10 college communities around the U.S.
Besides getting its name prominently displayed at all events before its key 17-34 male demographic, HitMusic.com will provide the pop, rock and R&B tunes that will be used in the various lip sync, swimsuit and celebrity look-alike competitions.
But, according to promoters, it's the talent competition that really matters. The grand prize in that contest is a cameo appearance on Baywatch.
