Perhaps in the spirit of Cinco de Mayo, El Torito Restaurants has narrowed to five the list of contenders for its estimated $5-6 million creative broadcast ad account.

The finalists in the review are the incumbent Cohen/Johnson, Asher/Gould Advertising and Grey Advertising, all in Los Angeles, plus Ground Zero and The Leap Partnership, both in Santa Monica, Calif., said Mike Agate of Select Resources International in Los Angeles.

Agate is conducting the review for the Irvine, Calif.-based restaurant chain.

The client is expected to select an agency by the end of this month.

A new 30-second TV commercial for El Torito, created by incumbent Cohen/Johnson, broke late last month.
