Lone Star Lottery Lowers Litigation Bond in Second Go-Round
DALLAS–The Texas Lottery Commission has resurrected its $4-6 million minority advertising review, after cancelling the process earlier this year.
Agencies had until last Friday to submit a letter of intent to participate in the competition.
The first review was nixed in June after five out of six candidates failed to supply the required $500,000 litigation bond. The proposal of the sixth agency, Mithoff Advertising of El Paso, Texas, was rejected separately.
Many of the 20 agencies that initially planned to participate complained about the onerous size of the litigation bond, particularly as the review was supposed to allow smaller shops without network resources to get some of the business.
Perhaps in response, the most recently issued request for proposal has reduced the amount of the litigation bond to $100,000.
