A recent Heineken spot from Lowe Lintas & Partners humorously credited the invention of “scratching” records in rap to some random dude who spills beer on his turntable in 1982. But not everyone’s amused, according to the Village Voice. In fact, GrandWizzard Theodore—the legendary spinner who actually did invent the scratch (and the “needle drop,” too)—is apparently quite pissed and is publicly calling for a boycott on the Dutch brew.
