Office Depot’s online division has hired Rockpile Interactive here to handle its estimated $10 million account, following an informal review of several undisclosed Bay Area agencies. The shop will create both interactive and traditional advertising to promote the client’s Web site (www.officedepot.com).
“Ironically, they asked us to create print advertising [initially], although we are primarily an interactive agency,” said Ed Dilworth, Rockpile’s president and chief executive officer.
Interactive ads from the agency will appear on search engines such as Yahoo and Excite, and on Web sites that attract the small business and home office markets, Dilworth said.
