los angeles—After years of helping victims cope with the unexpected, Red Cross chapters in Oregon are launching an ad campaign focusing on the importance of disaster preparedness.

Underscoring just what’s at stake, the pro-bono print and TV work from Nerve in Portland urges residents to “Prepare for life” by keeping a disaster supply kit at the ready and planning for the worst.

While the message is serious, the TV spot is not. It features a dapper James Bond-type secret agent who watches a laser-beam cell phone open a safe.
