NEW YORK — Pizza Hut, which awarded BBDO its advertising account in 1987, has begun contacting agencies requesting credentials meetings, sources said. The Dallas-based client ireached out to a small group of agencies last week.

A client representative confirmed the review, characterizing the assignments up for grabs as “smaller project work.”

She added: “BBDO will still be our lead agency. We are not replacing them and all the things they do for us.” She could not immediately say why Pizza Hut was enlisting other agencies for project work instead of going with BBDO.
