CHICAGO Publicis Groupe's Publicis has won creative duties on the Indiana Pacers' estimated $1-3 million advertising account, the agency confirmed.

The shop will handle the assignment out of its Indianapolis office. Sister company Optimedia will handle media duties.

"We're excited to begin a partnership with Publicis and Optimedia," said Pacers Sports & Entertainment CEO Donnie Walsh in a statement. "Publicis and Optimedia offer a knowledge and experience within this market that we value and feel will serve us well."

The National Basketball Association team had previously been with independent agency Marc USA in Indianapolis.

The Pacers spent just over $1 million on advertising last year, according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus. That spending includes money spent on the WNBA team the Indianapolis Fever.
