NEW YORK Optimedia has hired Frank Friedman (shown) as head of local broadcast, succeeding Ellen Drury, who left the agency last month.
Friedman previously served as svp and managing director of Optimedia, Indianapolis. He will maintain these duties as he transitions to his new role.
"Frank is a proven performer. He is a great leader and knows what it takes to build clients' businesses through local broadcast," said Antony Young, president.
"I have always been passionate about the power and enduring importance of local broadcast media. In the face of the current landscape of fragmentation, consumers continue to engage with and trust their local media, and I look forward to increasing the profile of local broadcast within our company and with our clients," added Friedman.
Friedman has worked in the ad industry for more than 20 years. His client experience includes Dairy Queen, Subway, Nike, Circuit City and Louisiana-Pacific.
