OMD Adds Siemens, Sony in Europe

LOS ANGELES -- Omnicom Group's OMD has won European media duties for Sony and Siemens following reviews, sources said.

The Sony business, a consolidation search that included the entertainment company's music, consumer electronics and theatrical accounts, was estimated at $300 million-plus, while Siemen's review, for its mobile phones, was for an estimated $100 million media account. In the Sony review, OMD prevailed over Cordiant Communications Group and Publicis Groupe's Zenith Media and WPP Group's MindShare, both London, while the Siemens review was won in competition against Aegis Group's Carat, according to sources.
