Sherry Matthews Advertising and California director Barnaby Jackson took a long look at 1960s James Bond motion pictures before shooting a new oil recycling spot for the Texas Natural Resources Conservation Commission.

Refining an idea conceived by the Austin, Texas, agency, Jackson (working with Pavlov Productions, Culver City, Calif.) studied the Bond genre to reconstruct their look and feel, along with the play-to-the-camera acting style common to the films.

The result is a 30-second spot breaking across Texas this week.

In the commercial, a Bond look-alike and a female secret agent in an Aston Martin are chased by villains in a black Lincoln Continental.
