WELLS WINS GEORGIA-PACIFIC
NEW YORK-Wells BDDP here has been awarded ad responsibilities for the consumer products division of Georgia-Pacific. G-P spends about $10 million annually on advertising for brands such as Angel Soft bath tissue and Coronet paper products, according to Competitive Media Reporting. Sources said G-P’s ad budget, however, could double. BBDO South, Atlanta, also pitched.
N.W. AYER ACQUIRES DEARE MARKETING
NEW YORK-AyerDirect here, the direct marketing unit of N.W. Ayer & Partners, last week acquired Deare Marketing, an independent New York company that offers sales promotion, direct response and event marketing capabilities.
