Hill, Holliday Shuffles Top Managers
BOSTON--Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos last week elevated Fred Bertino and Brian Carty in a reorganization of senior management. Bertino, chief creative officer and president of the Interpublic Group of Cos. shop for the last six years, adds no new duties. Carty, however, becomes managing director of client services. TN Makes Peebler Chairman Emeritus
CHICAGO--Charles Peebler was named chairman emeritus of True North Communications and will concentrate on new business and working with key TN clients, the company said. Replacing Peebler as CEO of True North Diversified Cos. is Valentine Zammit, who also becomes president.
Harris Diamond was made chairman of TN Diversified and continues as chairman and CEO of BSMG Worldwide.
Absolut Cinema Ad Plays in L.A.
NEW YORK--Absolut vodka's first stab at cinema advertising--a two-minute mock trailer for a fictional movie--aired last week at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival. "Hey Stranger," the story of a drifter who carries Absolut in a violin case and causes a ruckus in a dusty border town, was created by TBWA/Chiat/Day in New York [Adweek, Sept. 28]. A second trailer--a send-up of a dance movie--is set to break later this spring. "It can continue a long time, as long as each step forward it takes, it evolves," said John Garland, the agency's director of broadcast production. "It amplifies the fact that advertisers want far more sophisticated ideas and executions."
Doner Tops Mullen for PNC
DETROIT--Doner has bested Mullen to win the $25 million PNC Bank account, following a nearly five-month review. The agency's first work for the Pittsburgh-based bank, slated for September, will include TV, print and possibly other media, said Alan Kalter, Doner chairman and chief executive. Ketchum Advertising, Pittsburgh, and McKinney & Silver, Raleigh, N.C., had shared the account.
MediaCom Wins $100 Mil. ConAgra Media
NEW YORK--Food conglomerate ConAgra has named Grey Advertising's MediaCom, New York, to handle its $100 million consolidated media account. MediaCom and New York-based SFM Media were the incumbents. Carat MBS, New York, was also a contender. ConAgra's media buying duties had been scattered among multiple shops [Adweek, March 8]. The Omaha, Neb.-based agricultural giant was looking to combine its business at one agency, sources said.
Jury Is in for Cannes Festival
NEW YORK--Keith Reinhard, chairman and chief executive at DDB Needham Worldwide, has been named jury president for the 1999 Cannes International Advertising Festival. Nina DiSesa, chairman, chief creative officer at McCann-Erickson Worldwide in New York, was appointed to the film jury and Bill Ludwig, vice chairman, chief creative officer at Campbell-Ewald, to the press and poster jury. The president of the first-ever Media Lions jury is Paul Woolmington of The Media Edge; other jury members are Mike Drake, U.S. media director at BBDO Worldwide and Jack Klues, worldwide media director at Starcom.

Bronner Slosberg Humphrey has been renamed Bronnercom and will serve as a holding company for the $1 billion entity's three agencies: BSH and Strategic Interactive Group, both Boston, and Sansome in San Francisco Two former Anheuser-Busch marketers have formed an independent Latino agency, Latin Works Marketing, in Austin, Texas, and Los Angeles.
