New Orleans Bank Puts Itself in Fans' Hands

DALLAS Hibernia National Bank will serve up some advertising at college sports venues in Houston in a deal with ISP Sports and Spectator Advertising Solutions, the companies said.

Through SAS' StadiumTray, Hibernia will advertise its new Texas locations at the University of Houston's and Rice University's home football games, the client said. ISP Sports is a sports marketing company based in Winston-Salem, N.C., that includes the ISP Radio Network.

Food vendors at sporting events use the disposable StadiumTray. SAS, based in Kennesaw, Ga., provides its trays to concessionaires Sodexho, Aramark and Boston Concessions Group.

"We saw StadiumTray as a solid communications tool that will actually put the Hibernia brand in people's hands," said Greg Keightley, senior vice president of marketing communications at the New Orleans-based bank. "Anytime you can put your brand in the consumer's hands you've won part of the battle."

The value of the advertising deal was not disclosed.

With $21 billion in assets, HNB has 310 locations in 34 Louisiana parishes and 34 Texas counties.

ISP Sports vice president Stacy Hall noted the partnership is "a continuation of our efforts" with SAS' StadiumTray. In 2003, ISP and SAS promoted Best Buy at Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt football games.

"StadiumTRAY provides us with just such a medium as seasons are short and inventory is tight this year in certain venues," Hall said. "StadiumTray was instrumental in helping us bring in a new corporate partner to our venues in Hibernia."
