The American Legacy Foundation last week broke a campaign promoting the impact of New York’s smoking ban with ads by Omnicom’s GSD&M in Austin, Texas, and public relations from Golin/Harris International in Miami. Ads refute arguments from the ban’s opponents. One billboard reads, “If they ban smoking on the subway, no one will ever ride it ever again. Ever.” Golin/Harris is touting a poll by the New York City Coalition for a Smoke-Free City that found most New Yorkers go to bars and clubs as often as before the ban.
