Donino, White & Partners here, formerly Donino & Partners, enjoyed a flurry of activity last week as it acquired a $3 million account, made major personnel changes and broke a new campaign.
The new account at the high-tech specialist is Mapics, an Atlanta-based developer of enterprise software systems for midsized companies in the manufacturing and distribution sectors. Agency president and chief executive officer Frank Donino said the client approached his shop about the business, armed with a handful of referrals from other high-tech companies.
"[The agency] has a track record in, and a terrific understanding of, the enterprise software industry, as well as tremendous technology and consumer branding savvy," said client director of worldwide marketing Yvonne Genovese in a statement.
The agency changed its name to reflect the contributions of executive vice president and partner Ridge White, who bought into the shop about 18 months ago. White, who has been with the firm since 1990, directs the strategic planning and client services departments.
Donino, White & Partners made two significant hires as well, recruiting Dan O'Neill as creative director and Rod Armbruster as chief financial officer.
O'Neill replaces Dick Briner, who accepted a job in Kentucky. The former had been with the Atlanta office of Fahlgren as well as the defunct Joey Reiman Agency here.
Armbruster arrives from his post as comptroller at The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va.
The new campaign is for CyberCash, a $5 million account the agency won last spring. The client provides e-commerce software and services that enable credit card, cash and checking payment transactions to be processed over the Internet. The trade print campaign targets Web-based merchants and partner companies like Visa. A TV spot is running on national cable.
