Mta's 'Decision' Is A Steal

Most Big Apple commuters are familiar with "The Decision: Julio and Marisol," an AIDS-awareness comic strip PSA that has been seen on subway cars by standing-room-only crowds (at least during rush hour).
In the ads, Julio loves Marisol, but he won't practice safe sex; Marisol (shown here) loves Julio "but," as she famously declared in an early episode, "not enough to die for you!"
Well, they may not want to die for him either, but it seems some New Yorkers are willing to steal the subway saga.
Project manager Ann Sternberg of the City Health Department said the ads proved to be so popular that Metropolitan Transit Authority officials declared "The Decision" the subway system's most frequently stolen poster.
"They told us we had to print more copies to replace those that were being stolen," she said.
Improved security measures have since cut down on the subterranean subterfuge.
Separately, the 11th installment of "The Decision" is slated to hit the streets-er, tracks-early next year. -Rob Lenihan
