NEW YORK-Roman Lesnau, former director of new business at J. Walter Thompson in Detroit, has transferred to JWT's New York office to assume a new role: senior partner, director of business devel opment for North America. Lesnau reports to Bob Jeffrey, president of North America.
Euro RSCG Worldwide named Ira Matathia global director of business development and Marian Salzman global director of strategy and planning. Based in New York, they will work closely with Euro RSCG offices worldwide. In their new positions, Matathia and Salzman will work with account planners and business-development teams to drive creative insights and business strategies into client companies. Matathia will focus largely on business development, while Salzman will engage network staffers in the creation of fresh ideas and strategies based on consumer and market insights. Most recently, Matathia and Salzman worked at former Young & Rubicam unit The Intelligence Factory, which was dissolved following WPP Group's acquisition of Y&R last year.
Marissa Thompson joined DDB New York as group account director on the Hasbro business. She was previously at Cliff Freeman and Partners, where she held a similar position on accounts such as Coca-Cola, The Walt Disney Internet Group and Staples.
Gotham in New York promoted Julie DeLoca, an account director on the Liz Claiborne, Ladies' Home Journal and More magazine accounts, to partner.
Reggie Fils-Aime was appointed senior vice president, marketing for VH1 in New York; he will oversee all marketing activities for VH1, including consumer and trade advertising, affiliate and consumer marketing, ad-sales marketing, and event marketing and promotions. He most recently served as chief marketing officer for Derby Cycle Corp.
Designworks Advertising hired three new staffers and promoted one. Nancy Elander and Beth Savicki joined the Syracuse-based shop as media planners/buyers; Elander previously worked at shops such as Mark Russell & Associates and Sage Marketing, and Savicki most recently served as a communications associate/public relations specialist with the United Way of Central New York. Christy Dan ni ble was appointed senior copywriter; she pre viously worked at Eric Mower and Associates in Syracuse as a copywriter on various national, regional and local accounts. Erin Kelly was promoted to junior account executive; she formerly worked as office manager.
Zish Molbegott joined Centra Marketing & Communications in Westbury as a senior vice president in its consulting group. He most recently worked at Marden-Kane, a New York-based promotion agency.
R/GA hired Kevin Weaver as group account director on the agency's IBM business, a newly created position. Before joining the New York-based agency, he was worldwide management supervisor at OgilvyOne in New York.
Jungle Interactive Media in New York named Jeff Greif advertising director. In his new position, he will be responsible for overseeing the advertising efforts for Jungle Interactive magazines MBA Jungle and JD Jungle, which target the career and lifestyle needs of young professionals. Greif previously worked at magazines such as GQ, The New Yorker and InStyle.
Decker Design in New York named Robert Decker director of operations and client services. In his new position, he will oversee the day-to-day operations of the graphic-design company and manage the account-service initiatives directed toward existing clients.
Bravo Networks in New York promoted Kim Becker to vice president of public relations. She most recently served as director of public relations, Bravo Networks.
Ritta & Associates in Englewood hired two new staffers. Tim Lyons joined the shop as vice president and senior account executive; he previously worked at companies such as K2 Digital and The WIT Agency. Shannon Bostwick was appointed a senior account strategist; she arrives at R&A from OgilvyOne.
MARC USA/Pittsburgh promoted two staffers. Jodie Eash was elevated to senior account executive; she joined the agency in 1999 as a public relations account executive. Kristy Hudson rose to media buyer; she arrived at MARC in 2000 as an assistant media buyer.
Elaine DiRienzo was named an account executive at Kelly Michener. Prior to joining the Lancaster-based agency, she served as content manager for spree.com, an online consumer-shopping portal with offices in West Chester.
