CONNECTICUT Connolly & Connolly in Watertown has hired Stephen Martin as creative director and Elaine Rentz as senior designer. Martin previously served as senior art director with O'Neal & Prelle in Hartford, where he worked on accounts such as The Bushnell, the Connecticut State Department of Tourism and Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Connecticut. Prior to that, Rentz was owner and principal of Elaine Rentz Design and senior art director at Dickinson & Co., both in Westport. Sandra Hamer, president of Hamer Associates in Farmington, has been appointed to a three-year term on the Universal Accreditation Board of the Public Relations Society of America. Hamer also serves as chair of the Accreditation Committee for the Connecticut Valley Chapter of the PRSA. Cronin & Co. in Glastonbury has announced the following hires: Sandi Wallace and Scott Porter, account supervisors; Alana Kantor and Kimberly McGrath, account executives; and Tracie Pfeifer, production assistant. In addition, Pamela Soisson has been promoted to account executive from assistant account executive. MASSACHUSETTS Ciavarra Design in Boston has promoted Diane Carvisiglia to senior technical writer/copy contact responsible for building client relationships. Previously, she was editor for The Athenian, an English-language monthly magazine in Greece, and worked for The Hellenic Times and The Athens News on a freelance basis. Carvisiglia also has held positions with The Stride Rite Corp. and Brookline Citizen. Boston-based Arnold Public Relations, a division of Arnold Communications, has named John Isaf account supervisor, overseeing DIVX, The Hartford and Forrester Research. Isaf previously served as an account supervisor at Pamet River Partners, also in Boston, where he worked on the MCI, Dreyfus-Mellon, Fannie Mae and Nashua Corp. accounts. CPS Direct in Woburn has hired Robert Cargill as associate creative director. David Betz has been tapped as Web master for HubNet Communications in Boston. A former chef from the Wentworth Institute of Technology, Betz will design and manage Web sites for clients such as Pizzeria Uno, bostondine.com, Martignetti's and Rebecca's Cafe. Dynagraf in Canton has promoted Peter Magaldi to account executive. The Weber Group in Cambridge has promoted two members of its emerging technologies business team. Jim Carini has been named group manager, and Peter Delgrosso has been advanced to account manager. Carini manages the iMagic, Voxware and Oberon Software accounts. Delgrosso previously served as account specialist for the AdSmart, Anysoft and US Web Utopia accounts. MediaOne in Newton has promoted Ruth Smith to traffic coordinator and Patricia Keeley to traffic and billing supervisor from traffic coordinator. Dan Miranda has been awarded the Karen Koritz Estock Creative Internship at Ingalls Advertising in Boston. Miranda is a student at The Creative Circus in Atlanta. Boston-based TFA Communications has announced the following new hires: Stephanie Thornton, account manager, from account executive with Acom, Hingham; Amy Ekross, account manager, from director of client services with Point of View, Boston; Tina Peloquin, junior graphic designer, from junior graphic designer with Rochelle Seltzer Design; Angela Baur, account coordinator, from account management intern for Ingalls Advertising, Boston; and Kevin DeAquair, senior graphic designer, from art director/senior graphic designer with ON Technology, Cambridge.
