ARIZONAArvizu Advertising and Promotions, a Phoenix ad agency specializing in Hispanic markets, hired Raul Ayala as production manager. He previously served as print manager for the Arizona Republic. COLORADO Cactus Marketing Communications, an integrated marketing communications firm in Denver, hired Laura Driver and Amy Schmidt as account executives. Driver previously worked at Barnhart/ CMI as an account manager. Schmidt was formerly a senior account executive at Dowling & Pope Advertising. NORTHERN CALIFORNIA Frankel, San Francisco, a promotional marketing agency in the Publicis network, promoted account director Lee Dixon to vice president. Hired as vice presidents were creative directors Skip Foppert and Chris Nelson and group creative director Julie Robertson. Frankel is headquartered in Chicago. Michael Long and Laura Horton joined Philip Johnson Associates, San Francisco, as director of new media and account manager, respectively. Horton will work primarily on the Healinx business. PJA specializes in technology and healthcare advertising. OREGON Robley Marketing in Portland hired Travis Snow as electronic production artist.Mike Terry joined Young & Roehr Group, Portland, as an account executive. Terry has over five years of experience in marketing communications and project management. Young & Roehr is a business-to-business marketing communications agency. Coates Kokes in Portland hired Anh Eckrosh as media director. The agency serves consumer and business-to-business clients in the Pacific Northwest. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIAYaYa, an interactive game-based entertainment experience firm in Los Angeles, appointed Keith Ferrazzi as chief executive officer. Ferrazzi comes from Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, where he was chief marketing officer. He will work to develop the company's relationships with top-tier global brands.Universal Pictures promoted Nicholas Wakefield to vp of creative advertising. Wakefield will direct development of all in-house audio-visual advertising, both foreign and domestic, for Universal Pictures. His credits as director of creative advertising include Erin Brockovich and Meet the Parents. Harry Donenfeld was named vp of marketing and new-business development at Station X Entertainment, Santa Monica. Station X specializes in 3-D computer imagery for television and film. Donen feld will work to build opportunities in film, television and the Internet. Gerald Linehan was named evp of national spot sales for Azteca America in Los Angeles. He will work to build a national sales staff and develop a national spot TV sales strategy. Linehan previously served as national sales director for Freeinternet.com. Azteca is a joint venture between Pappas Telecasting Companies and TV Azteca. Peter J. Scanlon joined Univision Communications, Los Angeles, as vp of sales analysis and planning. He will manage Univision's planning department and assist with forecasting and pricing of inventory. Univision, a Spanish-language broadcasting company, is the fifth-largest TV network in the U.S. Lawrence, Mayo & Ponder, an ad agency in Newport Beach, promoted Janice Parks to the newly created position of vp of social marketing. She will supervise advertising and marketing activities for the California Department of Health and Read California. DiZinno-Thompson Integrated Marketing Solutions, San Diego, hired Cary Weisz as an account manager, Heidi Pleskow as a production artist and Jon Woidka and Jennifer Peterson as designers. UTAHFJCandN in Salt Lake City hired Rob Pyper and Haven Simmons. Pyper, who brings almost 20 years of branding, strategic planning and team management experience to the agency, will serve as account manager. Simmons, a winner of several Addy awards, will work as senior art director. WASHINGTONKathy Clarke rejoined AK MediaPrint, Seattle, as Northwest regional account manager. Previously, she worked as a local account manager at AK Media/NW, a division of AK Media. DDB in Seattle hired Peter D'Agostino as art director and Cindy Byers as account executive.
