FLORIDA John Sparks has joined the Tampa-based advertising and marketing agency Peak/Biety as associate creative director. Sparks was formerly with another Tampa shop, FKQ Advertising. Patrick Harrison has been appointed public relations manager of HLA Advertising and Public Relations in Tampa. Agency management also promoted Kelly Hauck to assistant account executive. Hauck has been with the agency for six months, having graduated from the University of South Florida. Laura Kalman has been named traffic manager and production coordinator at Walker Design Group in Tampa. GEORGIA Atlanta-based Aydlotte & Cartwright has hired Rick Smith as director of public relations. Smith comes to the agency from The Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati, where he was director of public relations and marketing at The University Hospital. Officials with the Atlanta office of Ogilvy & Mather have announced the following promotions: Deana Kingsbury has moved up to account executive from account project manager; Jenny Maclaughlin and Emily Mather have progressed to account project managers from account administrators; Ryann McAllister was advanced to media planner from assistant media planner; and graphics coordinator Alok Nath has become graphic designer. At Carroll/White in Atlanta, the following staffers were promoted: Cloud Conrad was elevated to vice president of strategic development; Jim Corona has moved up to vice president of operations; Beth Thomas has advanced to vice president of graphic design; and David Wolff has progressed to creative director. Uptons in Atlanta has appointed Mary Todaro communication media manager, Cindy Slaughter copy manager, Norma Marks senior graphic designer and Leigh Morris senior copywriter. G.W. Hall has been promoted to vice president of communications for The Newsletter Factory and Publication Studio, both under the aegis of Chandler, MacDonald, Stout, Schneiderman & Poe in Atlanta. Jeff Kallay has joined Point b in Atlanta as marketing manager. NORTH CAROLINA Giordano Advertising in Charlotte recently announced two personnel promotions. Kelli McCallum has been moved up to business-to-business account supervisor and Kendra DeMarco has assumed the post of consumer and retail products account supervisor. R. Ross Harris has been named vice president of marketing at R.L. Reid & Company in Greensboro. Matt Wojtysiak has joined the creative staff of Lippi & Company in Charlotte as an art director. Greensboro-based Coyne Beahm has welcomed Bill Lunsford as a studio artist and illustrator. The agency also promoted Rusty Monroe to the position of art studio manager. Linda Halloran has joined The Zimmerman Group in Durham as project manager. She comes to the agency from MarketShare in Richmond, Va. Chris Gray has become a public relations account executive at Lyerly Agency in Charlotte. Gray arrives at the shop from his post as executive director for Right Moves for Youth. TENNESSEE Gill Duff has returned to The Buntin Group in Nashville as executive vice president and management partner. Duff, who first started with the agency 17 years ago, will now serve in a senior account management role and direct business development. VIRGINIA Dennis Nikles has joined the management ranks of Barker Campbell Farley & Mansfield in Virginia Beach as vice president and media director. Nikles will be responsible for strategic media management and planning for the agency's current clients. He will also supervise the media department's staff. Arnold Communications in Richmond has announced the following personnel moves: Stacey Just has joined the agency as account executive on the Virginia Lottery business; Phillip Marine has come on board as studio manager; Joy Black has been recruited as creative department manager; and Kim Gudusky has been promoted to the position of account coordinator on the Stihl business.
