Cone Communications in Boston has tapped Nicole Poisson as account executive and Blair Berger as account coordinator. Poisson, formerly with Alan Taylor Communications, works on the Summit Technology and Swiss Army Brands accounts; Berger, most recently with the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Health, works on the iBaby, Mattel and Select Comfort accounts.

Community Newspaper Co., Needham, has appointed Woody Helfand vice president of sales. Helfand was previously director of sales training at Knight Ridder.

Karen McCann has been named account executive at Gray Rambusch Advertising in Boston. McCann most recently was marketing coordinator with the Harvard Business School.
Talbots in Hingham has added three executives to its merchandising team: Cynthia Murray, Chris Cupples and Kate McKee. Murray is vice president, general merchandise manager for the women's sportswear business. She was most recently vice president, merchandise manager at Saks Fifth Avenue. Cupples, who was previously senior vice president, sales and marketing for the 1928 Jewelry Co., is vice president, general merchandise manager for shoes and accessories. McKee heads the newly formed in-house design division. She was most recently head designer for Liz Claiborne's Collection line.
Arnold Communications in Boston has promoted Bill DeWitt to vice president and Shergul Arshad to account supervisor. DeWitt works on the Fleet Financial Group account, and Arshad works on the Stop & Shop and Polaroid accounts.
Feinstein Kean Partners in Cambridge has promoted Christine Cramer to director and Jessica Smith to senior account director. Cramer, joined the agency last year as a manager from Edelman Healthcare. Smith has been on board since 1996.
