NEW YORKThree senior vice presidents were promoted at McCann-Erickson in New York, effective immediately. Peter Friedman was appointed executive vice president, director of broadcast. He joined McCann in 1998 as director of broadcast; prior to that, he oversaw global TV production at Nike. Danielle Korn was named executive vice president, director of broadcast operations. She joined McCann in 1988 from Saatchi & Saatchi, where she was vice president/business affairs. Steve Ohler was named executive vice president, group creative director. After joining the shop in 1988, he spent four years at McCann in Paris as creative director. McCann-Erickson claims bill ings of more than $2.2 billion and has clients that include Coca-Cola, Gateway Computers, MasterCard and Microsoft.Deborah Zdobinski was appointed senior principal, executive director, corporate communications and public affairs for Publicis in the U.S., a newly created position. She will report to Terrie Paladino, chief development officer of Publicis in the U.S. in New York. Zdobinski previously served as senior vice president, director of corporate communications for D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles.Stein Rogan + Partners in New York hired two new staffers. Stuart Burkhoff was named vice president/ managing director, media services; he replaces Jin Kim, who recently was promoted to senior vice president/managing director, account services. Burkhoff joins the shop from J. Walter Thompson, where he most recently was partner, associate media director on the Unilever business. Kerry Duane Quinn was hired as vice president, chief financial officer; he fills the CFO spot formerly held by Francis Vasquez, who left the company to pursue other opportunities. Quinn was previously the financial manager for New York operations at Bozell Group.Pedone & Partners in New York promoted three staffers, effective immediately. Michael Decker and Diane Donoghue were elevated to vice president, management supervisor posts; they both previously served as account supervisors. Decker continues to work on 1-800-Flowers.com, The Waldorf-Astoria, and Cumberland Packing Corp., and Donoghue continues to lead the team that handles advertising and promotional programs for four of the Taubman Co.'s regional shopping centers: The Mall at Short Hills, Stamford Town Cen ter, Westfarms and the MacArthur Center. Glenn Cudaback arose to account supervisor; he was formerly an account executive.Primedia Consumer Magazines promoted Liz Rioux, the East Coast advertising manager for Primedia's American Baby Group in New York, to national advertising sales director. She will manage advertising sales for Healthy Kids magazine, the American Baby Show and the Healthy Kids show. Art director and graphic designer Richard Wilde, chairman of the Graphic Design and Advertising department at the School of Visual Arts, was elected president of The Art Directors Club in New York. He previously served as the ADC's treasurer of the board. NEW JERSEYGráfica hired Grace Cirone as copywriter; prior to joining the Chester-based agency, she worked for Vamcom & Partners as a senior copywriter. In addition, the shop promoted Carey Moore to traffic manager; she was previously a traffic coordinator in Gráfica's production department. PENNSYLVANIATony Bucci was elected the new national chairman of the board for the Make- A-Wish Foundation of America, based in Phoenix. Bucci is chairman and CEO of MARC USA, based in Pittsburgh, and has been a member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America's national board since 1996. He also is a former chairman and board member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western Pennsylvania & Southern West Virginia.David Ewen joined MARC USA/Pittsburgh as senior vice president/executive creative director. He will lead development of all the agency's creative work. Prior to joining the shop, he was a freelance creative director for several agencies, such as Grey Worldwide, TBWA\Chiat\Day in Playa del Rey, Calif., and Patterson Advertising in Australia.Nina Pruitt joined Roska Direct in Montgomeryville as vice president, account group director. Most recently, she served as a senior vice president, account director for Gillespie Healthcare in Princeton, N.J.DMW Worldwide has appointed Chris Kalin traffic director. Before joining the Wayne-based agency, he worked at Dorland Sweeney Jones Health Communications as senior traffic manager.Comcast Cable Communications, a division of Comcast Corp. in Philadelphia, promoted Richard Palmer to senior vice president of finance and administration for its Eastern division. He formerly was vice president of finance for the same division.
