NEW YORK
JWT Specialized Communications, New York, named Jo Bredwell senior partner, global business. She most recently served as senior vice president, corporate director of client services at Bernard Hodes Advertising.
Earle Palmer Brown named Ned Clausen director of business-to-business marketing. He joined the New York shop in 1998 as vice president of business-to-business marketing.
Bob Needleman has joined Ryan Drossman/Marc USA, New York, as senior vice president and co-creative director. He had been creative director at his own shop, Needleman Pilla, for four years and has worked at such agencies as Scali, McCabe, Sloves, and Lord, Dentsu & Partners. Richard Wilde, senior vice president at the agency's design group and founder of the graphic design and advertising department at The School of Visual Arts in New York, was inducted into the Art Directors Hall of Fame.
Hampel/Stefanides, New York, promoted four staffers. Director of operations Celine Hubler advanced from vice president to senior vice president; director of new media services Dean Lubnick and associate media director Tracy Baird were named to vice president posts; and Andrew Lippman rose from assistant producer to producer.
Rapp Collins Worldwide in New York named Tim Searcy president of its Optima Direct division, a telemarketing management company based in Vienna, Va. Searcy was most recently senior vice president at Transcom USA in Indianapolis.
Burson-Marsteller named Bill Rylance president and chief executive officer of its Asia-Pacific region. He will be based in Hong Kong. Rylance joined the New York agency earlier this year following Burson-Marsteller's purchase of his Seoul, South Korea-based public relations firm, Merit Communications, which is now called Merit/Burson-Marsteller.
Search consultant AAR/Bob Wolf Partners, New York and Los Angeles, has named Linda Urben-Peterson to the newly created position of partner, marketing services. Urben-Peterson, who will be based in New York, was formerly U.S. corporate advertising director at AT&T and will be responsible for the marketing of AAR/BWP nationally.
Rochester-based Catalyst Direct added four staffers and promoted one. Beth Bailey moved up from senior art director to creative supervisor. Joseph Mannara joined the agency as creative director, from Wegmans Food, where he was advertising-creative design group manager. Cynthia Casto was hired as an account director, from The Chase Manhattan Bank, where she was vice president, interactive communications. Lorraine Wappman was named account manager; she was previously at UB Business Alliance, where she developed and implemented business-to-business marketing programs. Catherine Valleriano was named programmer analyst; she had developed and designed software programs at the consulting firm Ajilon.
Mark Russell & Associates promoted six staffers and added one. Brent Trimble and Deana Falbo moved up to account supervisor posts in the Syracuse shop's account-services department; Jane Rosick advanced to account executive in strategic planning; and Kari Henderson was elevated to traffic manager in the production department. In the agency's public relations department, Jaime DeMario was promoted to account executive; Betsy Berdigian moved up to the newly created position of public relations coordinator; and Marti Bledsoe was hired as an assistant account executive.
Moore Stickney Associates has promoted Tamara Bilotta from media assistant to media buyer. Prior to joining the Amherst agency in 1991, Bilotta served as a customer-service specialist at Marine Midland Bank.
Hill and Knowlton, New York, has promoted several staffers. Paul Graves advanced from global relationship manager to senior managing director; Michael Kontos moved up from managing director at the agency's Shanghai office to senior managing director; Lisa Kennedy was elevated from account director, working on Ortho Biotech, to managing director in the firm's pharmaceutical group; and Jessica Ross was promoted to senior managing director and public-affairs group team leader.
Barbara Behrins has been promoted to New York sales manager at Inc. magazine. She was formerly regional advertising manager, handling such accounts as IBM, Rolex and Lucent Technologies.
Katz Radio Group in New York promoted Laura Hagan to president of Katz Hispanic Media. She most recently served as executive vice president of KHM.
NEW JERSEY
Gary Frisch was named account supervisor, public relations at Princeton Partners, Princeton. He most recently served as a senior account executive at New Directions Public Relations, also in Princeton.
Jennifer Beck, senior legislative director and general manager at The MWW Group's Trenton office, won a seat on the Red Bank Borough Council.
Grafica added two staffers. Michelle Furdyna joined the Chester agency as an account supervisor, after holding that title at Gillespie Advertising. Jane Aldrich was named media supervisor, after serving as media planner at DKB and Partners.
Mercedes-Benz USA in Montvale has promoted Ken Enders to vice president, marketing. He most recently served as general manager, marketing and product management, passenger cars and light trucks.
PENNSYLVANIA
Yearick-Millea, Pittsburgh, has promoted two staffers and has hired one other staffer. Helen Ciaramitaro was named account coordinator; she joined the agency in 1996 as an administrative assistant. Gina Opalka was also named account coordinator; she joined Yearick-Millea in February 1999 as an administrative assistant.
Sandra McVeigh was named an account executive; most recently, she was adjunct faculty and co-director of the business- and professional-communication curriculum at Duquesne University, and was also internship director for the affiliated departments of communication and English.
IntelliMedia-LD&B in Horsham added four staffers: Tony Grigal was named media supervisor, after serving as regional spot-broadcast manager at Rubin Postaer and Associates; Vincent Barbera joined the agency as a media assistant, after graduating from the University of
Pittsburgh; Elizabeth Choi was named account coordinator, after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh; and Karoline Daly was appointed digital designer, after working as a multimedia designer and animator at Proscape Technologies in Fort Washington.
CONNECTICUT
KGA Advertising, Middletown, added one staffer and promoted another. Adam Pacio was named graphic artist, after working at Copywise Quick Printing in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Brenda Wiknik moved up from accounting coordinator to media buyer.
