The McCann-Erickson name will disappear from the Southwest as the agency is folded intonew sister company Temerlin Mc-Clain, a Temerlin source said last week.

Employees of Mc-Cann in Dallas and Temerlin in Irving, Texas, as well as McCann offices in Houston, New Orleans and Austin, Texas, were notified last Thursday that the Interpublic Group will consolidate its holdings regionally under the Temerlin name.

As reported earlier [Adweek, May 14], combining the two agencies had been widely anticipated under the IPG buyout of Temerlin parent True North.

Dennis McClain, Temerlin’s CEO and executive creative director, will retain his title as head of the agency.
