The U.S. swept the 12th annual London International Advertising Awards, which will be presented today, garnering 40 of 143 awards. The nearest competitors were South Africa with 22, the U.K. with 14 and Singapore with 10.
BBDO, New York, won two of the top three television/cinema honors. For the overall campaign category, BBDO won for Snickers spots “Chefs” (shown here), “Team Prayer” and “Batman.” BBDO also won the Best Public Service prize.
The Television/Cinema Grand Prize winner was Eclipse Productions, London, for its Blackcurrant Tango “St. George” spot.

With 15,870 entries from 78 countries, LIAA broke several of its own records and honored for the first time agencies from India, Slovenia and the United Arab Emirates.
The radio category went to Batey Ads, Singapore, for its campaign for Asian Pals of the Planet/Animal Cruelty. Ogilvy & Mather in Makati City, Philippines, won the print category for its Pepsi-Cola ad tagged, “No to dope. No to heroin. No to coke.”
