"Thirtysomething" is the theme of Euro RSCG's rebuilt top tier in New York. CEO David Jones, 37, has made his first major management moves since taking over the $1 billion outpost in September, wooing Andrew Bennett, 33, from Interpublic Group's FutureBrands to be evp and chief strategy officer, and elevating Euro creative director Jeff Kling, 38, to ecd.
Jones, whose position was created after office president John Berg left last May, said the changes "represent a clear vision of where our positioning is." Bennett replaces Marian Salzman, who left in October; Kling takes the position vacated by Kevin Roddy in August. Berg, Roddy and Salzman were all part of what was expected to be a new generation of leaders at the agency.
Last week, Euro ended its fight to keep the $300 million Intel business [Adweek Online, Jan. 11]. Since August, the office has added more than $300 million in billings, led by last month's $100 million Charles Schwab win.
Bennett, who has worked at WPP Group's Fusion 5, McCann Erickson and 14th Floor Brand Consulting, said, "Every agency has ebbs and flows. But Euro is a very strong network with very talented people ... and it's done great strategic work."
Kling was unavailable for comment. He joined Euro in 2003 from Wieden + Kennedy.
