A Labor Department report showing the economy added 50,000 fewer jobs in May than in April led to fears of a slowing economy and a late-week downturn. The Dow dropped 29.38 points to close at 11,247.87, down 2.6 percent after gains earlier in the week. The Nasdaq posted a 0.8 percent gain for the week, increasing 16.84 points to close at 2,219.41.
