Two weeks ago, IPG CEO Michael Roth gathered together executives from the 16 IPG agencies that service Bank of America to gauge the health of the client relationship, sources said.

The impetus for the meeting was contract talks with Bruce Nelson, the holding company’s CMO who also serves as pointman on the $600 million account.

Nelson coordinates multi-agency efforts on BofA and is the key liaison with client marketing chief Catherine Bessant. As such, he’s linked to a significant revenue source, which sources estimated at $60-65 million.
