Roy Grace, Advertising Legend, Dies From Cancer at 67
NEW YORK Legendary art director Roy Grace, died last week at age 67 after a long battle with prostate cancer. Grace, most recently chairman and creative director of defunct New York shop Grace & Rothschild, was an instrumental figure in the “creative revolution” of the 1960s, working on Doyle Dane Bernbach’s Volkswagen business. Among his most memorable ads: Volkswagen’s “Funeral” and Alka Seltzer’s “Spicy Meatballs.” He is survived by his wife, Marcia, and children Nicholas and Jessica.
