Beber and Tinsley Battle for Mayor's Jewelers
ATLANTA--Miami shops Beber Silverstein & Partners and Tinsley Advertising will make presentations to Mayor's Jewelers for its estimated $2-3 million account, sources said. The pair emerged as finalists following a review that included at least two other Miami agencies, HMS Partners and Ryder & Schild. According to sources, all shops were asked to present ideas for a campaign targeting first-time engagement ring buyers. Agencies referred calls to the Coral Gables, Fla.-based client, which could not be reached for comment. A decision is expected this week. Harris Drury Cohen, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., split with Mayor's in June.

Miami Twosome Plays for Doral Golf Resort
ATLANTA--Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami will hear pitches this week from incumbent Ryder & Schild and Beber Silverstein & Partners, both in Miami, according to sources. Agency and client executives declined to comment until a decision is made. HMS Partners in Miami chose not to participate in the account review.

Sawyer Riley Lands Pony Express Delivery
ATLANTA--Pony Express Delivery Services tapped Sawyer Riley Compton here over crosstown shop Aydlotte & Cartwright to handle its business-to-business account. Billings were not disclosed. SRC plans to build upon the company's current positioning as "America's First Express Company," developed internally, with a campaign starting early next year. Pony Express previously used Powell & Partners, Charlotte, N.C., before moving its offices from Charlotte to Atlanta this summer.

St. James Leaves Austin Kelley for Ketchum
ATLANTA--Lee St. James, vice president and creative group head at Austin Kelley Advertising here, is leaving his post after six months to direct creative at Ketchum Advertising in Pittsburgh. St. James replaces Ketchum's executive vice president and executive creative director, Cliff Miller. "It's a great opportunity," St. James said. "It's back to being the head guy." Ketchum will be St. James fourth agency stop in less than two years, including creative directorships at Folio Z in Atlanta and The Zimmerman Agency in Tallahassee, Fla.

Agency Founder Robert Campbell Dies at 49
WASHINGTON, D.C.--Robert Campbell, chief executive officer and founder of The Campbell Group in Baltimore, died on Aug. 4, 1997, after complications from heart surgery. He was 49 years old. Campbell started his agency in 1984, and soon became known as a force in the hospitality industry. Current clients include London-based Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts, Baltimore Area Convention & Visitors Association and the Pride of Baltimore. The Campbell Group has 42 employees with offices in New York and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., as well as Baltimore.
